In our entire life, we have imagined that our happiness depends on others, haven’t we? That is exactly why we are afraid of being single or afraid of going out alone or do anything by yourself, because, in our mind, we have this idea that, to be happy, we need another person.
What if I say, you, my darling, are completely wrong.
Happiness is something that we create within us.
I’m gonna say it again,
HAPPINESS IS SOMETHING THAT WE CREATE WITHIN US!
So, you’re thinking that you need a big house, or a luxury vehicle or a partner to be happy? Trust me, there are people who don’t even own a house, are way happier than us. So the idea that you have, that we need a majestic life to be happy, is my love, utter bullshit.
Have you heard that “If you have a family that loves you, a few good friends, food on your table and a roof over your head. You are richer than you think.” Read this until it sinks to your mind.
We, humans, think that happiness is at the next step. If you are schooling, then you think you’ll be happy if you go to college. If you are in university, then you think your happiness is in a job. If you are single, you think you’ll be happier with a partner. But would we be happy with this ‘next step’? No, because we always want something more, imagining that happiness is there.
But, do you realize that happiness lies at this moment, not yesterday, not tomorrow, it’s right now!
Most of us fail to grab this idea. That’s why we are on an endless circle of pursuing happiness and end up being stressed.
The first step of creating happiness is, never ever compare yourself with others. You are unique in your own way and you have to trust yourself first of all. You might not be wealthy as the other person or you might not be prettier as her, but why does it even matter? You are not born to impress a society that doesn’t give a damn about you. So, never ever compare yourself with others because being real is worth more than a thousand pretentious people.
Also, learn to appreciate small things. You are looking way ahead so you might miss the things which are right in front of you. Spend time with your family. I know they can be a pain in the neck but these are the people who are going to be with you. And never forget that we never realize what we have until it’s gone. So, start to train your mind to see the beauty in everything because like I said before, happiness is something that we create within us.
